39th ABC Volleyball Spring Tournament kicks off!

The Spring Tournament has been a familiar and appreciated event for many years and provides the perfect opportunity to conclude the indoor season in a sporting and sociable manner. For experienced players, it is a wonderful reunion with teams and players before the summer period begins. For new or beginner participants, it is often a first introduction to competitive play, and thus a great stepping stone towards the upcoming season. In this way, the Spring Tournament aligns seamlessly with ABC Volleybal's ambition to offer everyone the opportunity to play volleyball at an appropriate level, with fun as the primary principle.

We kick off with the first matches on Tuesday, April 14. After six weeks of play, we conclude with the final rounds in two groups, on Tuesday, June 9 and Thursday, June 11. This edition features 31 teams: 12 women's teams and 19 men's and mixed teams. We are competing for the well-known challenge cups for both the women and the men, and there are also prizes to be won in every pool.

_What has made this tournament so special for years is the sporting and positive behavior of all participants. The way teams interact with one another, show respect for opponents, referees, and scorekeepers, and contribute to a pleasant atmosphere in the hall, deserves great appreciation. It is precisely this attitude that makes the Spring Tournament a wonderful, accessible, and appreciated sporting event for the region.

To ensure the tournament runs smoothly, we ask for everyone's cooperation in arranging for officiating and scoring in a timely manner. Only together can we ensure fair matches and enjoyable playing evenings.

The Spring Tournament can only exist thanks to the efforts of many volunteers, both now and in the past. This year, the organization is once again in the hands of Piet Huberts and Frans van den Boom. Following a long tradition of organizers, they too are dedicating themselves with great enthusiasm and commitment to making the 39th Spring Tournament a success. On behalf of the club and all participants, we express our great appreciation for their efforts.

  • Every match lasts 1 hour*.
  • The matches take place between 19:00 and 23:00
  • All matches are played at ABC's home venue: Frits Philips Sports Hall (Avignonlaan)
  • Please pay attention to the tournament regulations
  • We also keep track of the standings for you on this page
  • Prizes: In addition to the challenge cups, there are a 1st and a 2nd prize in each women's and men's pool. The challenge cups are awarded to the women's and men's teams that achieved the best result with the set scores. The highest positive balance between set points for and against counts. In the event of a tie, the quotient decides; if that is also equal, any head-to-head match played decides, and otherwise, the draw decides. We will present the challenge cups at the end of the tournament, on Tuesday, June 9 and/or Thursday, June 11 at Sportcafé D’n Frits.
